A two-day intensive development course around fundamental scissor technique and sectioning. Learn how to understand shape and form within longer hair and grow your confidence and skill set when working through longer and mid-length hair in the barbershop or salon. Master layering and graduation techniques to give you a core understanding of how to use the scissors across all popular men’s haircuts on the salon floor.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Day 1-2: Foundation & Skill Sets
Day 1: Square/Uniform Shape & Layering
• Morning: Lecture on the fundamental formula of creating shape in hair
• Understanding what layering is and how it creates movement
• Demonstration from educator on live model or mannequin
• Afternoon: Hands-on session executing a square/uniform shape on mannequin head with educator guidance
Day 2: Triangle Shape & Graduation
• Morning: Lecture on graduation techniques
• Understanding how to build and maintain weight in hair
• Demonstration from educator on live model or mannequin
• Afternoon: Hands-on session executing a classic mid-length graduated haircut
