The Clippers course serves the same purpose as The Scissors—taking technical methods of using clippers, from fading and tapers to shape-ups and all technical clipper work, and translating that into salon-ready skill sets that allow barbers to work at a fast pace while delivering high-level men’s haircuts in a technical and efficient manner.

COURSE OVERVIEW

A two-day intensive focused on fundamental fading and clipper technique. Learn how to master and utilize your clippers in a shop or salon timeframe. This course will give you a rounded skill set of how to approach every trending haircut on the salon floor in a timely manner, covering everything from contemporary fades to classic tapers and modern clipper work.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Day 1-2: Foundation & Skill Sets

Day 1: Fundamental Fading

• Morning: Lecture on the fundamental foundations of fading

• Creating shape and form with clippers

• Understanding the difference between shoulder and wrist motion

• The idea of creating shape and shade

• Live demonstration on model showing how to create a beautiful salon blend in a short timeframe

• Afternoon: Bring your own model (if possible) to practice techniques learned

Day 2: Tapers & Advanced Techniques

• Morning: ‘Train Your Eye’ workshop examining a variety of fades and tapers

• Understanding the techniques behind different looks

• Demonstration on creating a taper in shop timeframe

• Focus on skin tapers, graduation, and contemporary clipper work

Prerequisites (if any)

No prerequisites. Suitable for barbers who want to translate technical clipper methods into salon-ready skills and work efficiently while delivering high-level men’s haircuts.

What tools/equipment students need

Hands-on exercises are conducted using mannequins and live demonstrations by the educator.

Students will need to bring their own equipment. (Scissors, Clippers, Combs, Water Spray)

Models - bring your own or provided

Students are encouraged to bring their own model if possible for Day 1 practice to gain extra hands-on experience. If a student cannot bring a model, mannequins will be provided for practice, so everyone can fully participate.
